Before I run out for a rather long day of work, I came upon this video in the National Archives and then found it on Google Video. Experiments in the Revival of Organisms (1940) . The experiments shown were conducted by Dr. S.S. Bryukhonenko at the Institute of Experimental Physiology and Therapy, Voronezh, U.S.S.R.
There are several problems with portions of this video, from a modern medical and scientific viewpoint. Certain aspects of the central nervous system, heart and pulmonary function are neglected. Hearts require their own blood supply, other than just the blood they pump ... and also require a connection to a nervous system for pacemaking. It is rather cleverly edited, to omit certain of these details in the experiments. More about these problems can be read here.
If you are an animal lover, you likely will find this too gruesome. It is narrated by British Professor and writer J.B.S. Haldane
